Automated Thermostats are a technological achievement that have made controlling temperatures within homes among the most efficient devices in combating ever increasing energy costs. These mechanisms are effective solutions that provide adequate regulation for levels of heat or cool air flows that permeate the home.

Initially conceived in 2011, the NEST thermostat in particular has gained notable traction, even taking market share away from Honeywell which is the preeminent brand among the thermostat control industry. NEST, pioneered by former Apple engineers Tony Fadell and Matt Rogers are largely responsible for creating a brand of thermostats that are fully automated and capable of being controlled outside the premises.
